BA(SDS), MA Counselling Psychology, Registered Psychotherapist

A fundamental part of the therapy provided by Krista is to help you uncover and build on your strengths, propelling you towards your goals, visions and breakthroughs. She has strong skills in the treatment of depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, ADHD and working with people who have been involved in abusive relationships. She works from the wisdom of her trauma-informed sensitivity, and values evidence-based, clinically proven approaches such as EMDR, CBT and Family Systems. This beautifully compliments her extensive experience with cultural, spiritual and relationship issues. Krista’s own process of deep listening impressed upon her the importance of being empathetic, compassionate, energetic, and curious. She works with people on an ongoing basis and is also available for last minute appointments through our virtual walk in clinic.

Immediately following graduating with an undergraduate degree in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo, Krista implemented her desire to facilitate positive change by founding a project for at-risk communities in Brazil. Her dream of pursuing a career in psychotherapy was born of witnessing the difficulties faced by the youth and families that her project was working to assist.

Krista, who has lived in Brazil for most of her life, is fluent in English and Portuguese.
